This is a tune that I wrote about 5 years ago. I wrote it and had no project to put it out underneath at the time, so as soon as Jake and I started Minus Music, it fit just right.
Sadly, Minus Music was put to bed long ago, but I’d love to resurrect this project at some point. Since I made this song on my own, I don’t have an issue putting up for a free download. I’ll speak with Jake about putting up some of the other tunes we never gave away and even some unfinished tunes, perhaps.
Apparently I signed up for Tumblr over a year ago and I just now remembered about it. I’ve decided to make an honest attempt at keeping it up to date, so if you’re patient with me while I learn how to use this site, you’ll probably be rewarded with some free music and plenty of information regarding all of my projects. I’ll go ahead and spill the beans about whatever I can right now…
I’m going to start out by talking about a project that I’ve been working on for a while now. I’ve mentioned this on my Twitter and Facebook pages, but I haven’t gone into much detail. This project is still untitled and it consists of an incredibly talented vocalist named Matthew Kelly (The Autumns / The Sound Of Animals Fighting) and myself. I do all of the music and he sings. Simple formula, great results. Our sound is varied, but it revolves around live instrumentation mixed with a dose of an electronic production style. My greatest influences are bands like Radiohead, Fugazi, Pink Floyd as well as all other sorts of music. All of this blends together in the album that we’re working on. Oh yeah…. we’re working on an album! Well, an EP. Regardless, I am incredibly passionate about this project. I have been eager to flex my more musical side for a long time now. I grew up playing in bands and this is the first time that I’ve returned to it since I got into making electronic music. Which brings us to our next topic…
Evol Intent. Yes, we’ve been quiet since our album came out. Things are changing though. We are literally days away from finishing 2 new monster tunes. One is a west coast gangsta rap inspired dubstep tune. You’re gonna like it. The other is a half-time (drumstep?) drum and bass tune. It’s a bit different for us in that we’re moving into more bass driven sounds these days as opposed to glitching everything out. We have been talking about working on another album, so I will keep you all posted on what’s going on with that as soon as it gets off the ground. WORD.
So… what else.. oh yeah.. LUDACHRIST! I know that a lot of you have been waiting patiently for what seems like years. Well, it has been years. Working with Jake on Ludachrist is one of the greatest collaborative experiences I’ve ever encountered. However, we are both busy people and it’s hard for both of us to drop everything and produce an album as detailed as “Bangfest" is. But, after a few years, we’re back. Our new album, "Talk Is Cheap," is finished. We are working on a video trailer in the next few weeks and then the album will drop shortly after. I am not going to give a release date yet, but you can expect an official announcement over at http://www.worshipludachrist.com regarding all of this very soon.
One more thing.. Bro Safari. I recently re-launched my Bro Safari project. At first, I was determined to do some dubstep, but I’ve started to reconsider that now that I’ve been working on new material. I think that Bro Safari will just be an outlet for all of my music that falls into that “other” category. Mostly “Bass Music” and then honestly.. whatever I want to make, I’m gonna make. I have about 4 or 5 new tunes in the works. I’ll try to wrap them up ASAP and post them up!
